Pentawards is the first and most prestigious competition in the field of global packaging design. It's like the Oscars in cinema, only in design. The Tompi brand became the first representative from Kazakhstan and all of Central Asia to receive this award!

"Tompi" is a unique product, it is entirely produced in Kazakhstan (in Shymkent) and developed by the Magnum design team! Fun fact: The name Tompi comes from the Kazakh word meaning "Chubby" - a term of endearment commonly used to refer to small children.

Razia Akhmetzhanova, Creative Director, told what is unique about the Tompi brand:

In our creative idea, we invite parents to imagine their children in their happy future, where they realize themselves. Each package features a drawing depicting different professions with photographs of children of different nationalities, and a QR code for free download of lullabies in the Kazakh language.


The Pentawards award is a significant event not only for Magnum, where we participated on the same level with famous world brands: Pepsico, Unilever, Xiomi, KELLOGG (Pringles), etc., but also for the whole of Kazakhstan, as the only winner in the packaging design industry.

The customers immediately appreciated saving of time and effort they got with the Magnum Zoo. Toys, treats and any other goods for animals, all are available at one place and for various budgets.
We study the demand and add the best quality goods, as well as eco-friendly products to the product line-, says Tatyana Sklyankina, curator and category manager, about the project.


We try to cover the most popular brands of the pet foods, and offera wide variety of them, as well as of other equally important products such as litter, vitamins, care products, toys and accessories, etc   to our customers. We also signed a number of contracts with new partners.

Our team is eager to improve all work processes. So, we lauched implementation of a technology which assists employees to navigate at warehouse. Evgeny Lyapinov, the curator of the project, answered a few qeustions about the innovation.

Please, tell us more about new technology you implemented at the warehouse?

A voice module connected to WMS system has been launched. An employee with DCT (Data Collection Terminal) and headset hears all tasks in headphones and confirms their execution into microphone (for example, when goods are taken from a storage cell, one announces its double digit code, number of boxes taken and confirm outloud the movement of assebmled order for shipment).

Wherer this technology is coming from? This technology is widely used and developing further in western countries as it increases effectiveness.
